About Us

Guitar painting,  refinishing & custom built guitars is what we specialize in.  To date, we have done over 3,000 instruments since 2001. We have always sought to create the highest quality instruments & paint jobs possible. We have a passion for building instruments and also for the music that these instruments help create. We put alot of pride and individual ownership into each instrument we build or paint. Guitar painting & building is our passion, which is directly reflected in our quality.

Patrick Sims began Sims Custom Shop in 2000. A PPG Level 5 Master Refinisher as well as a seasoned guitar player of over 26+ years, Patrick has built guitars & done guitar paint jobs for players & collectors in nearly every state in the USA and on virtually every continent in the World. The Sims name is known for Top-Notch quality & is recognized Worldwide for raising the bar when it comes to custom built guitars & guitar painting.

We use PPG, House of Kolor & ALSA paints. All of our finishes are base coat/clear coat unless the customer specifies otherwise. We paint in a Custom Designed Cross-Flow paint booth which eliminates nearly all the contaminates in the air such as dust & trash that inevitably gets into many paint jobs.
